Matero are proud of the fact that many of our team have served in the military and optimise the skills they bring both from their service and subsequent commercial experience.
While a core part of our culture, we are equally proud of those members of the team who do not have a military background, embrace the underlying values of service and team with equal enthusiasm. It is testimony to the diversity, inclusive nature, and infectious team building spirit of the whole Matero team and MECCAR approach.
Regardless of background, we all take great pride in the support that we provide to the veterans’ community as a whole, which has included:
To date three former service people have completed a three-month consultancy work experience placement programme at Matero. Benefiting from training, individual coaching and mentoring, networking membership of the MAC, and work experience deployments with clients and partners, all have been successful. Using the internship to form a core part of their transition journey, they have either gone on to secure permanent roles within Matero, or have secured great roles in other companies, which Matero has actively sponsored.
Set up in 2020 as an informal network to support individuals leaving the military, or who have left the services and have an interest in consultancy. The Network gives its members access and insight to consultancy work, bringing with it a perspective of working for a large corporate company or a smaller organisation, such as Matero. Matero hosts events and helps provide mentoring support and advice, drawing heavily on the depth of experience, different perspectives, and connections within the MAC. Whether an individual ends up working with Matero or not, the intent of the Network is that Matero is able to put something back to assist those that have served.
Matero’s access to the MAC and the ex-military community, provides a significant pool of talent. While adding great value to Matero, it also provides a vehicle for individuals looking to further their careers in different areas, while also helping to generate a pipeline of potential talent for our clients. Consequently, if one of our team wishes to take their next professional step with a client organisation, then we will actively support them and the client company.
Matero support a number of charities, using our network and associations to raise funds and support events. Recently, this has included supporting the Parachute Regiment Charity and the Kirk McLaughlin Soldier Artist Memorial Fund.
